Please note: this is NOT a costume day.
On Thursday, students will be allowed to wear jeans, sweatpants, or pajama pants in exchange for a cash donation of any amount. Students should turn donations in to their Advisory teacher. All proceeds will go towards the St. Benedict Sister Elizabeth Ann Seton Fund which assists our students, families, and teachers with critical needs when needed.
Jeans Day guidelines:
Jeans, sweatpants, or pajama pants should be worn with a St. Benedict Spirit Wear shirt or school uniform shirt.
Leggings, yoga pants, and shorts are not allowed.
Jeans, sweatpants, or pajama pants that fit and are full length are allowed. Pants should be loose fitting and be free of rips, tears, stains, words, and decoration.
Shirts must have sleeves and be full length. NO: mid-riffs shirts, low-cut shirts, spaghetti straps, or sleeveless shirts.
Students may wear school uniform shoes, athletic shoes, or tennis shoes (sneakers). Boots, slippers, dress shoes (not included in uniform shoes), cleats, or shoes with spikes are not allowed. Shoes must have a closed front and back.
Students may choose to wear their regular school uniform instead of participating in Jeans Days.
All other uniform requirements are to be followed on Jeans Days.
On Thursday, October 31, we will show It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
The movie will be shown in the library during all three lunches and after school.

Essays due Thursday, Oct. 31
Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year, nearly 27,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Mass on Friday, November 1
All are invited to our Grandparents & Grandfriends Mass this Friday, Nov. 1! We will celebrate All Saints Day.
Our National Honor Society induction will be just before the Mass at 10:00 AM that morning.
The Student Government will be selling a variety of uniform passes this week.
SHOE PASSES:
Students can purchase a shoe pass wristband for $5 and wear tennis shoes with your uniform during November. (Wristband MUST be worn with tennis shoes. If you wear tennis shoes without a wristband, you will be considered out of uniform.)
NO SHAVE NOVEMBER:
Boys can purchase a no shave pass for $5 and join the competition to see who can grow the longest beard. Judging will take place after school in the dining hall on November 21 and the winner will receive a gift card.
SWEATPANTS PASS:
Females can buy a sweatpants pass for $5 to wear sweats under uniform skirts for the week of January 13 - 17. Students who purchase will be given a card to show that you purchased the pass.

SBA will be participating in the fall 2024 build for Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, November 9 from 7:15 AM - 1:00 PM at 869 McComb Avenue, Memphis, TN 38107.
Students must be at least 16 years old to participate. Families, friends, and faculty are also invited.

We will celebrate our Seniors participating in Football and Cross Country on Thursday night, October 31, at the home Football game vs. St. George's. Senior parents will be contacted by your coach to submit information about your student for the announcement, as well as with details on how to report to the field for your family's recognition.
Open Gyms will continue through this week from 3:30 - 5:00 PM. Monday and Tuesday sessions will be at the Saint Francis Parish Life Center. Wednesday and Thursday sessions will be in the SBA gym. This is a great time to knock the rust off your game.
Tryouts: Official tryouts will occur Monday evening, November 4, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the school gym.
